La Côte d’Azur

I had a chance to visit the popular holiday getaway of the French and the Europeans; La Côte d’Azur AKA French Riviera over the past days(that's why I was absent.)It's the southeastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, at the border with Italy.

It had been a year I didn't get to step foot in the sea and I was rather excited about the trip. Our destination was Saint Maxime where Monsieur J.'s summer house located. You might not know about this Saint Maxime but if I say it's between Saint Raphael and the luxurious Saint Tropez, the so-called French Beverly Hills, some of you might have some clue. (Well, I had no clue before I went there...) It was rather a long TGV ride and that we had to change a train at Marsaille. But as soon as I saw what all these "Saints" were like, was my tiresome gone! Very picturesque indeed. However, I have to say, with no bias, the beaches in the south of Thailand are much better - sandy beach with greenish blue sea...I haven't been to the Maldives or Bora Bora so I can't yet compare. Anyway, better or worse, actually no, there is no better or worse, just different... it did kill the beach thirst that I had been having for months!

The four days of lying on the beach, soaking up the sun, dipping in the sea and playing with the waves (and eating the homemade French cuisine)...it was rather rejuvenating! (though now I'm sort of having this love-hate relationship with my tanned skin and bikini lines.)

Will be posting some photos in the next entry...you know it's pain to resize and edit some details to make them all close to perfection as much as *I* can.
